We are thrilled to announce KVRA is the winner of the National Heritage Week Awards for our Walking Tours of Historic Killiney Village, in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council local authority area.
Huge congratulations and thanks to our local historian Alice Cullen, our walk leader, gathering crowds of up to 80 people. And to Mary Holohan, who worked tirelessly to have the walks included in the Heritage Week programme and to Mark Heaton and Michael McShane who helped to coordinate the events.
We are so proud of you all! Thank you to our volunteers and everyone who came along!
These awards celebrate the top events in each Local Authority Area as nominated. Each walk covered different aspects of Killiney’s rich history dating back to the 6th century Cill Iníon Léinín, the Ancient Church of Killiney, from which the district derives its name.
