DESCRIPTION:Following on from our inaugural meeting last month we have a lot to discuss given the amount of suggestions which were made in terms of what can be achieved over the coming year. We hope to identify specific areas to be explored and to assign tasks to those who are prepared to lend a hand bringing these ideas to fruition. In particular\, we have exciting plans for an Historical weekend next summer on the theme of ‘Transport in Killiney over the years’. This will form part of the DLR Summer of Heritage and we have a few surprises lined up for this event. If anybody has memories\, photos or would like to provide information on this topic\, we would love to hear from you. There are also plans to publish an annual Historical Journal which will include articles written by local residents and invited guests. We will be discussing membership of the Society and how this will be organised. Again\, we welcome anyone with an interest in the local history of Killiney to attend our meetings and we will listen to all suggestions to get this off to a flying start.

The result is an archived treasure for all to enjoy.\n\nSaturday April 22nd:\n– Exhibition Viewing: 1pm to 6pm\n– Michael McShane\, history talk: 4pm\n\nSunday April 23rd:\n– Exhibition Viewing: 1pm to 6pm\n– Alice Cullen\, history talk: 3pm\n\nThere is no charge to attend the exhibition. A donation box will be in place for the weekend and we appreciate any contribution towards the work of the Resident’s Association.\nPlease spread the word! \n
