Dalkey Community First Responders (CFR) are local volunteers who provide CPR and defibrillation to critically ill people prior to the arrival of an ambulance. The areas they cover include our own area of Killiney. They also cover Dalkey, Glenageary, Glasthule, Sandycove and Sallynoggin. Dalkey CFR have been doing this voluntary work since 2014 and have attended the majority of 999/112 calls assisting the National Ambulance Service with Cardiac Arrests, Heart Attacks, Strokes and Choking before the patient is transferred to hospital. This is a vital, lifesaving community service. Since COVID, their numbers have depleted. They are actively recruiting new volunteers. No medical experience is required – all training will be provided. If you think you are interested in becoming a CFR volunteer please contact admin@dalkeycfr.ie You will not only be helping in your local community, you will also be learning lifesaving skills that you may need some day for family and friends.
